Coventry University is a public research university located in Coventry, England. It is a modern university with an excellent history of providing high quality education and a focus on applied research. It has been awarded 5 QS stars overall and specially for teaching, employability, innovation, facilities, internationalization, inclusiveness and QS Stars Online Learning Award (the only UK university to win this) by the QS star ratings 2020. It has been ranked 26th in the ‘Teaching Quality’ by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021. It is also awarded No 1 Modern University in the Midlands (Guardian University Guide 2021). This dynamic, global and transformational ‘modern university’ has its roots back to 1843 to the Coventry School of Design. It was known as Lanchester Polytechnic from 1970 until 1987. It was later renamed the Coventry Polytechnic and after several name changes it was finally changed to Coventry University as per the Education Act 1992.
